Oh man my undergrad is coming to an end. It's crazy to think I'll be walking across that stage in less than a month!
I got my Aggie Ring last weekend. It's pretty much awesome. I've never really had a big piece of metal like this before. I like to wear it...a lot. My parents came down for the affair and I got to dunk it in Oktoberfest. That was pretty awesome.
I had a huge presentation for my capstone class today. It was my last presentation at A&M and it was by far the best. Our transitions were smooth, we had insightful humor, and a great message to deliver. We got first place in our industry in a class competition we had been taking part in. It was definitely a great feeling to get a 96 on the project!
I plan on taking a big trip at the beginning of this summer. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a road trip with a few good friends. I was thinking Florida. I'm going to LA and San Diego later in the summer...otherwise I would go to California.
My faith life is at an all time high. I honestly haven't felt this happy in over a year. It feels great to be alive and know that your future is taken care of. I also have a great appreciation for the world outside. I like to take the long way home or the long way to class and just think about how everything was meant to be this way. I love that feeling.
I went to see Anberlin in Houston a few weeks ago. They were definitely one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Their new album 'Cities' is amazing. I haven't taken it out of my CD player since the concert. I especially like 'Adelaide'. That track is repeated quite frequently.
I went to go work on a presentation with my group for my Advertising class in a study room in the West Campus Library. We had to kick this nice guy out of the room we reserved b/c he was just checking his e-mail. He had a huge exam that night and kindly gave me 2 free tickets to the Newsboys concert that evening. I called up a friend and headed to the concert after my meeting. It was crazy to see them again. I remember when they came to the Astrodome way back in 6th grade. The rotating drum kit was awesome...so was the raised stage at the end of the catwalk into the audience. Needless to say, it was pretty cool to see them again.
The whole Virginia Tech thing has shaken me up. That's freaking crazy. I can't even begin to describe the thoughts that went through my mind when I read that story on CNN.com early that morning. Be sure and pray for all involved.
I was able to see Stephen Hawking speak. He is a world famous theorist who has developed many insights as to the origins of black holes and the beginning of time. It was a pretty fascinating lecture, however, I wish he had gone a bit deeper into the background of his theories. I plan on reading a few of his books in the near future.
I got a free Qur'an the other day. I've been reading it pretty frequently and it's definitely given me many new ideas about Christianity. The wording is very different and the Muslim perspective on eternity and our life on earth are fascinating. I picked it up because I wanted to understand a bit more about their faith. Ultimately, it has contributed to strengthening my belief in Christianity.
Read Isaiah 43: 13. The question at the end gives me peace.
