Went to the Cure concert last night. All I can say is 'wow'. The Cure's music is so romantic and empowering, they truly know how to captivate an audience to say the least. The Rapture and Interpol opened on the main stage for the headlining Cure. The Rapture was quite unique, funky, poppy tunes with a grrreat backbeat combined with at times monotone vocal harmonies. i am definitely going to investigate them quite a bit more.

I like just putting breaks in paragraphs randomly because its easier on the eyes. Interpol was as expected, very rocking, very industrial and straightforward in their musical presentation. although i think they sound siginificantly more pleasing to the ear when recorded. to my dismay, the band i was craving to see, muse, was a no show. dang it all. but the concert continued and created quite a pleasant evening. mogwai and auf der maur played on the second stage, however, i did not go watch these bands play. the weather was wonderful, sunny but not hot, with a cool breeze sweeping across the lawn.

as the sun set, the cure took the stage and rocked out. quite a great finish to the evening and Curiosa Festival 2004.

so thats yet another good memory in the ol' memory bank.

i'm moving to college station in about 7 days...i have soooo much to do before i go. including packing, defensive driving, paying off my ticket, saying bye to friends, and getting my transcript stuff squared away...not to mention finishing off work. but i know it'll all come out good.

i'd suggest that you check out any of the bands mentioned above at Yahoo! Launch...its good for music vids and the like.
