i like broken social scene's music. i personally like their second album the most though.

i found an old notebook i used to write in the other day. i found a couple poems i wrote and thought i'd put them up here.

i'm one of those people without eye contact
it's just something to pass the time
how could you just look in to a man's soul like that?
you can't grasp it all in one breath
in a glance, in a moment
i think it takes longer
looks can kill
before words and intention
were ever born

i'm one of those people who tap their foot a lot
i like to take it easy
even though time takes it hard
seconds push against each other
while i miss a beat
they fall timely like dominoes
will they stop
when the song in my head is over?

we really walk a lot
all over and over all
she said that I had my own rhythm
that other drum that plays
I was her exhale while she was my inhale
hyperventilating in unison
to some beat you can't hear
or lost track of

do you ever just stare at things?
like an old chair or a fence
you would think there was meaning
to those moments of wonder
but then you would be thinking
instead of staring without blinking

do you see me in color?
this transparent beacon i reflect
is it a noticeable thing
to be ignored
while you so blissfully project
a few self portraits?
